1. I concede that my joke was in poor taste, I even publicly did this last Wednesday days before your show came out...

2. You have every right to say what you want about me, same way I have the right to make a joke about a withered hand

but here is the thing... I don't know you...I have never heard of your show, from what I gather it seems to be a bit like a tree falling in the woods...it happens, just no one hears it(I say that because I have not gotten one piece of correspondence from anyone who listens to your show, infact only1 person shared it) Since I don't know you or your friend Dave its seems to be a little strange that you guys would spend an hour trying to teach me to be funny. Have we met somewhere? Have you ever been to one of my shows? Calling me not funny does not bother me, I have been called it before and I am sure this wont be the last time. What bothers me are SELF RIGHTEOUS people like you, I don't answer to you Stu...and frankly you don't have any authority to judge comedy past your own taste. The only thing you have is your opinion, which again you are entitled to...so I get why you are angry, but it was joke that was not directed at one person in particular...get over it man, don't try to be the funny police your not qualified

I don't think they're trolls per se. Trolls act specifically to tear down and hassle people just for the sake of doing it. I think many people on the facebook site have legitimate, practical concerns evidenced by their force and depth of argument. Like Dave originally said, this is what democracy looks like, for better or worse.

Love this. Well said. As a Rochester native who now lives in Massachusetts, I've been watching Occupy Rochester via Facebook. Watching the trolls trying to both tear the group down- and more dangerously trying to tear the group apart is disheartening. The people, United, Will never be defeated---- United being the key word.

Thank you very much for this post. I agree with you on the meta issue thing, we shouldn't even really have to fight for it if only because every other sane administrator in the state has permitted camps, but there it is. I thought it important to establish that we are the ones with power. We are the governed from which consent is derived. I don't necessarily agree with the way it was conducted, but I think there were more good things than bad about the way the situation was handled.

I saw that tweet too and it kind of pissed me off but that is the kind of consciousness we need to shift with the outreach you're calling for.

Again thanks for the post and your insight goes a great way toward me thinking I'm not the only one with similar views.

I cringe at Ed's modem imitation: he went straight for 14.4K. 2400 was just a high "answer" tone and a low "originate" tone, then connect. 14.4K added the hisses and screeching, then 57.6K added the "balarn Balarn BALARN" stuff.

Anyway, I really wanted to comment on the "Vagina Grill" restaurant name. In Boston, there's a restaurant called "5 Napkin Burger" which I immediately renamed "Menstruation Burger", much to the consternation of my driving companions at the time.
