Porn Review - The Expert Guide to Female Orgasms

Another in a series of education porn videos we review, Tristan Taormino’s Expert Guide to Female Orgasms is a movie that deals with a topic that I feel very strongly about. I know it may not be politically correct to say this, but damn it, I’m FOR female orgasms! There. I said it.

So, can this movie help you produce more female orgasms in the world? Why, yes it can. Now if you listened to my fellow podcasters comment on the movie, they weren’t overly thrilled with Tristan’s education style, and Ed was creeped out by the vagina puppet. But if you’re a dude who pretty much just pumps and runs, you probably need this video. And if you’re a dudette, who hasn’t been taught much about your body and has never had an orgasm, you need this video as well. If you’re well versed in the female orgasm you may not need the video for educational reasons. Though I will say, horndogs like Melyssa and I did not know what the Yab-Yum was, so even we learned something.

For me, the interviews with the actors…they were pretty useless. It wasn’t hot and it wasn’t that informative. If people are different in terms of what gets them off, then I don’t really care what gets them off because, let’s be honest, I’m not going to be having sex with any of them. Fast forward over the interviews.

After 45 minutes of edumacation, you get to the sex scenes. Hot? Yeah, generally. I think Tristan has produced hotter work (and I am a fan, by the way), but it was still worthwhile. Maybe I haven’t been paying attention to porn the way I should be, but I didn’t realize how much Sean Michaels looks like Rog from What’s Happening. That was a little distracting from his scene. I’ve been quoted in a review as saying I’d pay money to watch Madison Young read a newspaper and that’s still true, but her scene with Jiz Lee didn’t do it for anyone in TSBS cast. I get the safe sex thing with the latex gloves, but two white girls using black gloves…it looked like they were scrubbing toilets. More distracting.

Special features: nice segments on kegel exercises and safer sex (though the saran wrap panties were odd). The masturbation montage was just as good as the sex scenes in the movie…in my humble opinion. I have to admit, after watching almost 4 hours of movie & special features, I passed on the vibrator guide and behind the scenes. My time was done.

Overall, decent sex scenes and great education for novices or the clueless. We don’t have a standard scale for our reviews, but I’ll give it a 3 out of 5.
